Method NH3-emission measurments

The measuring unit Meet ID has developed is based on simultaneously and under similar conditions executing measurements on a traditional slatted floor and slurry pit (control) and on an innovation (case). The conditioned circumstances involve air and enviromental temperature, relative humidity, composition of slurry in the pit and the air speed on the floor.

The strict measuring protocol dictates that both the case as the control need to be soiled for a certain, predetermined period of time. As soon as both floors have entered the measuring unit, fresh faeces and urin of dairy cows is applied on both floor.

The measurements are excuted by means of so-called Lindvall-boxes which seamlessly fit each combination of floor and slurry pit.

Execution of the measurements takes place within 1 week, in which in total 4 repetitions take place.
